Lauren Texter, LICSW
Referral Coordinator & Recruitment
Professional Statement
I am a licensed independent clinical social worker who joined Neponset Therapy as the Referral
Coordinator. I earned a Masters of Social Work degree from Boston University in 2018 where I specialized in Children,
Adolescents, and Families as well as Trauma and Violence. My professional work has focused on children
and adolescents struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, relational challenges,
crisis behaviors, and complex family dynamics. Most of my clinical experience is in intensive settings including McLean-Franciscan Inpatient Unit and Boston Children’s Hospital Emergency working with a wide diversity of client presentations, identities, and histories.

Following my position as Lead Social Worker at McLean-Franciscan, I transitioned to Clinical Director of a
Department of Youth Services Boys Detention Unit. In this role, I was able to supervise a team of clinicians, create mental health programming, and support both the youth and staff. Today, I am the
Lead Social Work of a Therapeutic Program at a public high school, providing counseling and crisis
intervention for students struggling with social-emotional differences. Throughout my experience, I gained skills in navigating a variety of systems (DCF, DMH, DYS, Insurance, and Schools), learning a variety of therapeutic modalities, and overall learning to create a supportive safe space for others.

I value and enjoy opportunities to be constantly learning in mental health field and incorporating new techniques into practice with individuals. I have earned a Certificate in Child and Family Forensics from William James and am also a Certified DBT Therapist.

I am born and raised in Southern California and moved to Boston for graduate school, where I fell in love
with New England (and all the snow too). In my spare time I enjoy being outside going on hikes with my
Golden Retriever, kayaking, and camping. I also enjoy True Crime Podcasts and bad reality TV.
