Professional Statement
I am a licensed mental health counselor and educational psychologist practicing in Milton, MA. My goal is to develop empathic relationships with clients and to use a strength-based supportive approach to assist clients to engage in the therapeutic relationship and process. In practice, I rely on the use of evidenced-based approaches, including CBT and DBT, and my work is rooted in relational and psychodynamic theories.

I received my master’s degree from Boston University’s School of Medicine where I studied Mental Health and Behavioral Medicine. I then went on to receive a postgraduate degree in School Psychology. After practicing in mental health and school psychology for many years, I pursued my doctoral work and received my Doctorate in Philosophy in Urban Education, Leadership, and Policy Studies. My research has focused on educational disability and equity within the special education team process. I have worked in a variety of roles as a mental health counselor and school psychologist. I began my career working for community-based mental health organizations doing individual and family therapy. Over time, I focused more on conducting psycho-educational assessments and providing individual and group counseling for children and adolescents.

I focus my clinical work on supporting children, adolescents, and young adults in addressing their needs around anxiety, depression, trauma, identity development, as well as addiction, and substance use. Additionally, I also have extensive experience working with families addressing the interpersonal dynamics within a family system to support the family as a whole. I also enjoy working with parents to do therapy, consultation, and coaching for working with their children when they are presenting with challenging behaviors.
